Set up Twilio SMS (Australia)

MagicBlocks makes it easy to deploy AI Agents that can send SMS messages through Twilio. Follow this guide to set up your Twilio SMS integration, specifically for users based in Australia.

What You’ll Need
• An email address
• A mobile phone (for Twilio verification)
• A payment method (optional, for full access)

Step 1: Create a Twilio Account
1. Go to https://www.twilio.com/try-twilio
2. Fill in your details (Name, Email, etc.)
3. Click Start your free trial
4. Verify your email address (check your inbox)
5. Enter your phone number for SMS verification

Step 2: Set Your Country to Australia
1. After logging in, you’ll be asked a few onboarding questions.
2. Choose Australia as your country.
3. Select SMS as what you’re building.
4. Choose “With no code” or “With minimal code” (doesn’t matter for setup).

Step 3: Get an SMS-Enabled Phone Number
1. In the Twilio Console, go to Phone Numbers → Manage → Buy a Number
• Direct link to buy number
2. Set the Country to Australia
3. Check the box for SMS
4. Click Search
5. Choose a number and click Buy
Free trial accounts come with a trial balance. If needed, upgrade your account to purchase more numbers or remove restrictions.

Step 4: Find Your Account SID & Auth Token
1. Go to the Twilio Console Home
• https://www.twilio.com/console
2. You’ll see these credentials on the dashboard:
• Account SID (starts with AC...)
• Auth Token (click the icon to reveal it)

Step 5: Share Credentials with MagicBlocks 

IMPORTANT: These are sensitive credentials. Share them only with trusted services. 

1. Copy the Account SID and Auth Token
2. Paste them into MagicBlocks securely through Library > Connection > Twilio then click Connect and add New Connection on Twilio
