FAQs

Q: What are Leads in MagicBlocks?
A: Leads are contacts your AI Agent has interacted with. Each lead includes conversation history, captured Key Facts, and activity details like session start, end, or handover.

Q: How are Leads created?
A: Leads are automatically created when a visitor starts a chat or you can import them manually (via CSV or API). The system merges duplicates by email or session ID.

Q: Can I edit lead information?
A: Yes. Go to Leads → Lead Details → Edit to update fields like name, company, email, or tags. You can also add manual notes for context.

Filtering & Segmentation

Q: How do I find a specific lead?
A: Use the search bar at the top of the Leads page. You can search by name, email, tag, or session ID.

Q: Can I filter leads by region, activity, or tag?
A: Yes. Click Filter → choose filters like Source, Region, Channel, Status, or Last Active Date. Combine multiple filters for advanced segmentation.

Q: How do I save a filter view?
A: After applying your filters, click Save View (if available in your workspace). This lets you quickly return to your preferred lead segments.

Importing & Sending

Q: How can I import leads into MagicBlocks?
A: Go to Leads → Import & Send → Import Leads.
Upload a .csv file containing columns like name, email, phone, region, and tags. You’ll get a preview before import to match columns correctly.

Q: What format should my CSV be in?
A: Use plain CSV (UTF-8). Required columns:

name

email or phone
Optional columns: company, location, tags, custom fields.

Q: Can I send leads directly to an Agent?
A: Yes. After importing, you can assign leads to specific Agents or Journeys for re-engagement or SMS/email follow-ups.

Adding & Updating Data

Q: How do I add new leads manually?
A: Click Add New Lead, then fill in the basic details (name, email, company). You can also add Key Facts manually in the Lead Details page.

Q: Can I update existing leads using the API?
A: Yes. Use the Leads API endpoint with your API key:

PATCH /v1/leads/{lead_id}

Include updated fields in the request body (e.g., email, phone, tags, or custom attributes).

Q: How do I bulk update leads with new information?
A: Use the API for large updates or re-import a CSV file with the same identifiers (email or ID). MagicBlocks will auto-match and update existing entries.

Lead Details & Activity

Q: What information can I see inside a lead?
A: Each lead profile shows:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Session history and goals
  • Captured Key Facts
  • Activity Feed (session start, end, handover)
  • Notes and extra user knowledge

Q: What is “Extra User Knowledge”?
A: It’s a field where you can manually add insights about a lead — such as preferences or conversation context — to make your AI Agent’s future replies more personal.

Q: What’s the difference between “Lead Notes” and “Extra User Knowledge”?
A:

  • Lead Notes are internal — for team collaboration and follow-ups.
  • Extra User Knowledge is contextual — used by the AI to improve conversations.

Q: How do I keep my lead data clean?
A:

  • Merge duplicates regularly.
  • Keep consistent tags and naming.
  • Review “Missing Knowledge” leads weekly to improve Agent coverage.

Q: What’s the best way to qualify leads?
A: Use Key Facts + Goals to identify conversion signals.
Example: Leads who shared an email and completed a goal are “sales-ready.”

Q: Can I export my leads?
A: Yes. Click Export on the Leads page to download your current list (filtered or full) as a CSV.

Troubleshooting

Q: My imported leads aren’t showing up. What should I check?
A:

  • Make sure your CSV includes required headers (name, email).
  • Ensure column mapping was correct during import.
  • Check your workspace filters — the leads might be filtered out.

Q: I updated a lead, but my Agent isn’t using the new info.
A: Re-publish your Agent after major data changes. The AI refreshes the lead context when the new session starts.
